But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law – Galatians 4:4
Grace and peace from Jesus Christ be with you all. This Christmas season is a time of hope when God gave his only begotten Son for us. It is a time of divine favour. Sinners receive grace. Sinners are forgiven. Sinners become children of God and receive many blessings. All of these are “ordination” from God, as the word of Galatians 4:4 says… When the time is fully come… it means that the coming of the Son is an ordinance. The time, place, and persons involved are all determined. So the lesson we will learn from God’s ordinance is:
First, the matter must be fundamental, so a clear plan and schedule must be established. Unimportant things are usually not on the schedule.
Second,the ordinance indicates a clear purpose to do and how.
Third, the ordinance is the sovereignty of God, indicating God’s absolute right. Brothers and sisters, Jesus came as the most important thing and the purpose is to save. And salvation comes from God alone, there is no other way (Acts 4:12)
So this Christmas, let us be filled with God’s infinite grace and share this good news with our neighbours.
